Ms. Szymaszek’s Classroom Investigations:
What
are we going to do with the seeds?
September 20, 2012
On
Thursday, September 20, the children explored with the head of a
sunflower....
They looked at the sunflower and noticed some of the seeds had been pulled out. Using forceps, the children pulled the seeds out of the sunflower one at a time, and placed them in a plastic cup. Before the morning was over, all of the seeds had been removed. “What are we going to do with the seeds now? Are we going to eat them?!” Next, the children will work with teachers to count how many seeds were removed from the flower.
