Ms. Szymaszek’s Investigations:
Keep
tape off the wheels so it can still move.
January 8, 2013
On Tuesday,
January 10, the children discovered the pieces of a wooden car that had
broken. “The car is all broken and won’t
work. We need to fix it!”
Ms. Amy asked what could be used to fix the
car. “I know, we need tape!” First, the
children put the pieces of the car back together, and used bolts to reattach
the wheels. Next, the children used scissors to cut small pieces of tape to
repair the vehicle. The children determined that the car would be fixed when it
could be pushed and successfully rolled across the floor. “We need to keep the tape off the wheels so
it can still move.” The children turned the car over and attached tape to the
bottom as well, securing the pieces in place.
