Ms. Lauren’s Investigations:
“The yellow makes the water look dirty!”
January 14, 2013
During the week of January 14th,
the children in the afternoon investigated the color blue. The table consisted
of three colors: blue, black, and white. Using paintbrushes, the children
filled their paintbrush with different amounts of paint. The children enjoyed
revealing the color blue created on white paper.
Myrna observed all of the blue
colors and said, “It looks like an ocean, a big one! We need a sun.” Myrna
brought yellow paint to the table. When we added the yellow to the blue we
noticed a change happened: our water turned green! “The yellow makes the water
look dirty,” Dillon explained. The children brainstormed and decided the ocean
needed seaweed! The children continued to add green and yellow to make plants
for our ocean.
