Collecting
Leaves: “They fell off the trees!”

Last week,
Ms. Jennifer brought in a bag of natural materials from her backyard for the
children to explore. The children used these materials to make collages and
were very interested in the leaves. Today the children had the opportunity to
collect their own leaves from the playground. The children took note of the
many different leaves that blanketed the playground. They discussed the array
of colors such as yellow, orange, red, brown and green. The children pointed
out the differences in size and shape that they noticed as well.
