Ms. Szymaszek’s Classroom Investigations:
I
want to make a home where bees live!
October 18, 2012
On October
18th, small tiles were placed on the table for the children to
explore. Several children were drawn to
the hexagon shaped pieces, and matched up the flat sides to create several
designs. One child placed the tiles
specifically to create “a turtle” and added a curling tail. Another child stated he wanted to “make a
place where the bees live. It’s called a
honey home. See how they fit
together?” A third child used the
hexagon tiles to make different creatures, including bees with wings and some
dragonflies as well.
