kind of bird is that?

Prior to the semester break, the children were interested in building nests. Several times in the afternoon, the children went on a “nest hunt” to search for other bird nests. During the semester break, Ms. Amy noticed a pair of birds in a flower pot on the classroom patio. Using a ladder, the children were able to look into the flower pot from inside the room to see the eggs.
The children decided to draw their own pictures of the birds sitting on the nest. The iPad was also used to find information about the bird, which prompted Alex to say, “That’s a mourning dove. It’s my favorite kind of bird.”
