Ms. Allie's Investigations:
How
many ways can you eat a waffle?
June 24, 2013
On the last day of school, the children in the morning worked on creating waffles for snack. Afterwards, they worked together to set the table and have snack as a group.
During
this process, they were encouraged to cut their own waffles. Some children ate with their hands. Many children used a fork to cut the
waffles. A few of the students asked for
kid scissors that are provided for lunch time use. The children were also given butter knives to
help them solve this problem. They were
encouraged to pass plates and silverware to one another as opposed to getting
up or asking a teacher. The meal was an
enjoyable way to spend our last snack together.
