Woah! Look at
all the snowflakes I caught!

On Monday, February 4, Ms. Amy
invited some children to explore outside in the snow. Each child was offered a magnifying glass and
a cold piece of black paper to explore with outside.
The children were invited to catch snow
falling from the sky. “Look! I caught a lot! So many fell from the sky!” “They look so pretty! Look at how small they are. Here’s a big clump! Look at how many are here!” The children proceeded to catch as many as
they could, holding their paper out to catch individual flakes. Later, the children held their tongues out to
catch snowflakes with their tongues.
